Zoroaster

PostSep 23, 2019#22

I've started to request art for other story threads on the Plothole on my own as well, so expect to see some non-NeS3D characters in this thread down the road. To start of us, here's Zoroaster, a wizard in ancient Earth times that shows up in the Legends of the NeSiverse thread!

Plothole request: Seraphim

PostSep 23, 2019#23

So as noted, anyone is of course free to request art for anything Plothole related outside of what I'm covering for the specific NeS3D stuff, and as examples, I'll be requesting a slew of stuff from threads such as Hero Force Ultimate, Legends of the NeSiverse, and more. My first request: Seraphim!

Character Request: Seraphim
Art type request: Black and white rough.
Reference posts: First appearing in Hero Force Ultimate here: post introducing Seraphim. She has since appeared in most of the posts that have followed.
Preferred art style: Western comic book style akin to DC Comics -- any variant that evokes the more strong, square-jawed superhero look, with Wonder Woman being a good influence. Otherwise, default/artist's preference is a good fallback.

Physical description:
Species/ethnicity: Technically an (ex-)angel, but she looks like a human, likely appearing of a white ethnicity. (no wings or halo or such)
Gender: Female
Age: Uncertain. She is quite likely much older than she looks, but since becoming an ex-angel, aging seems to have fallen on her (or at least perhaps "aged" from stress and such). At the very least, she looks very "adult" (no younger than 30s) but unlikely looks very "old" yet (no older than 50s).
Build: Wonder Woman-esque -- athletic/strong, but still "beautiful"
Eyes: Unspecified (artist's judgement as needed)
Hair: Unspecified (artist's judgement as needed) -- Wonder Woman is probably a fine reference to work with here
Outfit: White Hero Force jumpsuit, knee-high boots, short cape that falls behind her like her wings once did. Feel free to detail (or not) as it inspires you.
Props: None
Unusual features: None. In her earlier days on Hero Force, before she fell as an angel, she would have been "arguably the most beautiful person on Earth" and "only wore a dress made out of liquid light" but those days are behind her.

Personality
In the early days of Hero Force One's height decades ago, she acted as the superhero team's ultimate diplomat, healer, and powerhouse puncher in a pinch, and acted accordingly as a paragon of heroism in those regards, second in leadership and power only to the team's former leader, The Patriot. Since The Patriot's death, though, the team's fall from its former unchallenged glory, and general hardships, Seraphim now carries the weight of a new, much smaller, weaker, and inexperienced Hero Force largely on her own as the de facto leader. Because of this, Seraphim can be both more motherly and more nostalgic of "the good old days" than she normally would be. She's also had to deal with some conflicts of interest when it comes to a current team member that is her ex-lover and the reason she fell from Heaven in the first place. Despite all that, though, she often still acts as the icon of heroism, even if it's harder for her to do than ever before.

Notes
"Hero Force" is the name of an American-sponsored superhero group that exists in the world of the Never-ending Story, and the team's adventures have warranted their own spinoff stories. "Hero Force One" was the top team within that organization, akin to the Justice League of DC or perhaps to the Avengers of Marvel Comics. The group officially got off the ground in the 1970s and reaching their heights of glory in the 80s and likely peaking at the end of the Cold War. While still unchallenged as the best superhero group on Earth after, the team's popularity waned over the years to follow since its leader, The Patriot, largely served as an icon against the "evils of communism", the image softed some by internationally-affiliated superheroes that would join the group. Once the Patriot was killed, though, and the team weakened significantly by the apocalyptic battle at the end of the previous NeS thread, Hero Force as an organization fell into shambles. Currently, the team has regroup and are working to rebuild their resources and reputation, but despite the fall, those in Hero Force are still very much some of the most potentially capable superheroes the planet has ever known and may one day regain their position as the best superhero team on Earth.

Scene request: clown car

PostOct 17, 2019#24

At this time, colored scenes are not something covered in the NeS3D art offer I've made in the first post, so the following request is something I'm making on my own. With that said, I might include it as an incentive in the near future, we'll see!

Scene request summary: Aladdyn, Char, Iriana, and Newb piled inside a self-aware clown car. Posts for inspiration:
the-never-ending-story-thread-3-d-t7-s20.html#p207
the-never-ending-story-thread-3-d-t7-s20.html#p228

Scene quote: None (there's no particular scene snippet I'm looking to capture, so the art doesn't need to capture a specific moment, or even strictly one that existed
Preferred art style: Artist's choice/default

Description specifics:
  • Focus characters: Aladdyn, Char, Iriana, Newb
  • Background characters: N/A. If there's a view outside the car windows (or the drawing is done to be shown from the outside of the clown car), there would be various alien pirates and clown robots fighting each other.
  • Setting: The clown car itself is described as "tiny, brightly coloured car comes careening down the hill and onto the beach. It's wheels are bright red, its body is sky blue and its windows are frosted lilac. Sporadically, there are stickers of bright, crayon flowers" -- however, since I imagine the request will almost certainly be a shot from inside the car, I imagine this might be unnecessary to know. Even more unlikely needed to know, the car would be driving on an island beach (ocean on one side, likely cliff side on the other) with a fight between the alien pirates and the clown robots surrounding the car. The island is the same "hero base island under renovation" that NeS3D has so far taken place on.
Notes: I imagine most of what would make this art request interesting is that the four of these characters are in a tight space, and while plenty of cars can comfortably sit 4 characters, for comedic effect (and since this is meant to be a tiny clown car), I imagine the four of them might all be up in each other's space. Even if the space itself isn't constricting them, perhaps the "scene" might have all 4 attempting to be the driver, or perhaps limbs of the like of other characters that could be in the car (such as Wai or the famous musicians) could be present to indicate space being taken up. If the latter, they'd all look mundanely human, so no special considerations would need to be made there. Ultimately, though, I leave it to artist discretion how you want to frame the scene, though I'm happy to provide further suggested direction for anything if needed.

The clown car request from amade (I got 2 of them done)

PostJan 04, 2020#27

A continued pattern of requests for non-NeS3D Plothole art I've been getting. This time, for the story-arc in Legends of the NeSiverse involving the Remnant of the High Empire characters Kimmi, Pollos, and Qemik.

Zeus

PostDec 26, 2020#32

Zeus by Qing Yun. He's not fat enough, but otherwise it's great. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to ever be finished.

Qing Yun has become too busy with work that he can barely even draw images for himself these days, so has no time to do extra work for me any more. It's incredibly disappointing, but work is work. He's done great stuff for me, and some for NeS over the years. He has said, if ever he can he will contact me in the future to continue, but now I am not expecting anything.

That is unfortunate, but he's definitely done a lot of great art for you! Hopefully you can find a new artist.

12/06/2021 Current Art Line Up

PostJun 11, 2021#40

Just want to make a 'currently in the works' list of artwork. The primary artist right now is still WJH, who is hard at work on the next piece.

WJH
1. Stargaze
Stargaze is being worked on now as X-I is entitled to a new image and decided it would be more interesting to get a new character drawn instead of a coloured version of one he already has (CopyKAT). Stargaze is the love interest for Stargaze in his past life and she will also be a convenient visual for the entire Galactritron species should they be used in future.

2. Arnold
As Arnold9413 has just joined, I expect she will likely post before Stargaze arrives and will be eligible for an image drawn of her character, Arnold. Arnold9413 is something of an artist herself with a great picture of her character already that can also be added to the site.

3. Wai
Still no drawing of Wai, even though he's been here for ages now. So I'm going to go ahead and try to give it a go. We don't have too much of a description so I can only hope I get it right unless Cool Matty miraculously shows up again.

4. Hero Force
Prior to Stargaze, I had been going through the cast of Hero Force past and present. Both Dr R. Deep, Benjamin Mahir and Judge have been depicted (Judge even getting an alternate costume image). Seraphim was already drawn by Amade (though I wasn't keen on the design, too militaristic for my tastes). The next in line is likely Magick Snowflakes, followed by Acidspitter, Flax Hyperon, Ffion Heul, Winters and P.I. Funguy. So that is a further six slots at least. Brittica may also be added to that list.

Other considerations for HF drawings include alternate drawings for Acidspitter and Flax. Acidspitter in the suit I gave him when he was Mr Nine and a drawing of Flax when he was thin. Following that, I could consider more past characters for the team including The Patriot, Nick, Qhobeg 2. All of these are less of a priority, however, unless I feel WJH could handle an alternate costume at the same time as the primary image.

Steve
1. Morganna le Fay
Given he has taken months and months to produce this image, I am writing this off as a lost cause, though it may yet surface. He has done two designs, but seemed to forget his first design and made a new, second design that was completely inaccurate and I had to ask he go back to his first design. Since then... nothing.

Amade
Gebohq has kindly offered to help with hiring Amade for a further two images. However, he is busy working on stuff for Gebohq, so we'll have to wait a while. But, in time, we should see two new drawings;

1. Benjamin Mahir
Given how fantastic Amade's drawing of a pug (CopyKAT) was, I suggested he could draw Ben's rat form. Nothing crazy, just a rat, possibly with the drone from WJH's drawing.

2. Mutt
I believe Amade's special l33t skillz are perfectly adapted to drawing a robo-dog. He is the master of animal drawings and robot drawings; so this is a match made in heaven.

Given that Steve has not managed to surface with the requested image thus far, I may seek out a new second-artist to help work on more Leg stuff, probably continuing with the most prominent god characters or Camelot characters. Right this moment, I'm content to simply resume with WJH on NeS/HF projects, but I would like to get more stuff done. Ideally, I would have liked to get scenes also drawn, as Amade had done, but for now that may be a distant thing.
